FAQ
What is Turtle Moon, exactly?
Turtle Moon is a collection of stackable, lunar-inspired bracelets—one for each of the 13 Moons in the year. Every bracelet is tied to the energy of a specific Moon (like Beaver, Cold, Pink, Snow, Flower), so you can wear the Moon you’re in and collect the ones you’re growing into.
How do I know which Moon is “mine”?
You can choose a Moon in a few ways:
-
The Moon that matches the season you’re in (emotionally)
-
The Moon for your birth month or birth Moon
-
The one you just can’t stop thinking about
If you’re torn between a few, that’s normal—your stack can tell the story of different eras you’ve moved through.
What are the bracelets made of?
Each Turtle Moon bracelet is hand-strung in Mystic, Connecticut using:
-
High-quality gemstones chosen to match that Moon’s energy
-
Soft, durable, eco-friendly silk cord
-
14kt gold-plated accents that are nickel-free for everyday comfort
Materials may vary slightly between Moons, but they’ll always be listed on each product page.
Are the bracelets adjustable? What size are they?
Yes, they’re designed for an easy, everyday fit. Most bracelets are made on a soft, slightly stretchy or adjustable silk cord that fits most wrists comfortably. If you typically have a very small or very large wrist and you’re worried about fit, reach out before ordering and we’ll do our best to help.
Can I wear them every day?
Yes, they’re made to be lived in—coffee runs, work days, cozy nights, all of it. Like all jewelry, the more gently you treat them, the longer they’ll keep their original finish and shine.
Can I shower/swim with my bracelet on?
Short answer: you can, but I don’t recommend making it a habit.
To keep your silk cord and gold-plated accents happy for the long haul:
-
Take your bracelet off before swimming, showering, or hot tubs
-
Avoid harsh chemicals, perfumes, and lotions directly on the bracelet
Think of it like a little ritual: take your Moon off with intention, and put it back on with intention.
Is the jewelry hypoallergenic?
The metal components are 14kt gold-plated and nickel-free, which works well for most sensitive skin. However, if you have severe metal allergies, please use your judgment and/or consult a professional.
Where are Turtle Moon bracelets made?
Each bracelet is hand-strung in small batches by Allison (hi 👋) in Mystic, Connecticut. This is the opposite of mass-produced—every piece is made with intention and actual human hands.
Will the stones/crystals look exactly like the picture?
Not 100%. And that’s a good thing. Gemstones are natural, which means slight variations in color, pattern, and translucency. Your bracelet will be the same vibe and design as the photos, but totally unique to you.
Can I start with just one bracelet, or do I have to “collect all 13”?
You can absolutely start with just one. Begin with the Moon you’re in right now, or the one that feels like a portal into your next era. If you fall in love and decide to build a full stack over time… well, that’s kind of the whole point. 😉
Do you offer gift packaging?
Yes. Every Turtle Moon bracelet comes thoughtfully packaged and ready to gift, with storytelling that explains the Moon’s energy. You can also add a note at checkout if it’s going directly to someone special.
Do you do custom or made-to-order pieces?
Sometimes, in limited capacity. If you’re dreaming of a specific combination of Moons, stones, or a special stack for a milestone (birthday, breakup, new chapter), reach out and we’ll see what’s possible.
What if the bracelet doesn’t feel like “my” Moon once I get it?
It happens. Sometimes a Moon chooses you at the “wrong” time for the right reason. If it truly doesn’t feel aligned, check the return/exchange policy on the site, or consider keeping it as a reminder of the era you’re growing out of.
Do you offer wholesale or carry Turtle Moon in stores?
Yes. Turtle Moon is currently available in select boutiques (including Mystic, CT) and we’re slowly expanding. If you’re a shop owner interested in carrying the 13 Moons Collection, contact us for wholesale info.
What does “Go with the Slow” mean?
It’s a reminder that you don’t have to rush your becoming. Turtle Moon is about honoring cycles, not deadlines—growing at your own pace, starting again when you need to, and building a life (and jewelry collection) that actually feels like you.
